Gosport Half Marathon road race takes place at 10am Sunday 15th November 2009. Start is in Browndown Road (near roundabout by Bay House School). Approximately 1200 runners from all parts of the UK, including some of the best Club Runners in Hampshire will participate. It is a UK Athletics event. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to enter.

Within a few minutes of the start, the runners will turn into Cherque Way and head towards the junction of Broom Way, where they will turn right and enter the Daedalus site. All the runners will have cleared Cherque Way by 10.30am.

The route incorporates, Gosport Road, Stubbington Lane, Marine Parade (including the promenade), Portsmouth Road and finishes in Browndown Road.

At the start and also near the Hovercraft slipway in Marine Parade the Gosport 'Samba Band'  will be playing for the runners. These would be good locations to listen to the rhymes of Brazil and cheer on the runners. The runners would greatly appreciate your support. The leading runners are expected to finish in Browndown Road approx 11.08am

In conjunction with Gosport Leisure Services, we extend an invitation all local schoolchildren under 12 to take part in a 1.2k Fun Run. Registration is at Bay House School, Gomer Lane. Parental approval to participate will be required and the entry fee will be £2.00. All finishers receive a medal and a 'goody bag'. We want this to be an enjoyable experience, so if a child wants their parent/guardian to run with them, that is ok. No medal for parents! The Fun Run will commence at 10.20am and the route is through Stanley Park and finishes in Bay House School.
