Tree dressing day is steeped in age-old traditions from across the world, and on the first weekend in December, events are held throughout the country to re-enforce the beliefs that a decorated tree symbolizes the life force that persists in the tree, even in the dead months of the year.
As well as a children’s workshop and the opportunity to make your own decorations there will be information on tree dressing and entertainment. Then of course there will be the traditional decorating of the Christmas tree followed by a candlelit procession.
The event is free but there is a small entrance fee for the children’s workshop to cover the cost of materials.
