JubiLee-on-the-Solent event

Lee Community Association, Lee on the Solent Residents Association, Gosport & Lee Lions and St. Faiths Church have joined forces to organise a community event on Saturday 30th June. The event will be held at the Pauline Hamilton Community Garden and adjacent car park area, starting around midday and finishing at 5:00pm. In case of bad weather most of the event will transfer to the Lee Community Association premises on the opposite side of the road.

As it stands, it is planned that the event will start with a free children’s picnic party, and for the adults a barbecue and bar. A local band will provide entertainment. There will be a number of attractions throughout the afternoon such as a bouncy castle, small animal farm, puppet show, marching band, games and rides. We would like to include as many local community groups as possible in the event. Some will want to run a game or attraction for either adults or children; others will just want to promote themselves. There will be no charge to charities or local community organisations who attend*.

*This is not intended to be a fundraising event for the organisations attending so we would not want stalls selling bric-a-brac or other items. If you intend to sell items, charge for anything you will be doing or request donations in return for providing something. Please let us know beforehand so we can consider if it is appropriate. If some attraction you are proposing to run generates a profit we may ask you for a contribution to the costs of the event. We think your organisation’s presence could add to the success of this community. We hope you will want to be involved and help make this a very special event to mark JubiLee-on-the-Solent.
